On 28th June 2011 members of the Garden Club joined with the Shoalhaven Mayor Paul Green to hand over a cheque for $35,000 . This money has been raised over several years through the generosity of garden owners and the hard work of Garden Club members during the Garden Festival which is held in October each year. The money will go towards the Linear Accelerator Appeal.
President Bob Crocker was on hand to make the official presentation to Paul Green and said that it was as a direct result of all the hard work by garden owners that this amount was possible.
In addition to the $35,000 cheque the Garden club also handed over a cheque for $10,000 for the Shoalhaven Oncology Day Care Centre and on hand to receive the cheque was Bill Jensens from the centre.
Both Paul and Bill were very appreciative of the wonderful work carried out by the Berry Garden Club.
Following the cheque presentation the guests enjoyed morning tea in the courthouse grounds which are managed by members of the Garden Club.
