Garden beds flow around the sandstone house and cottage in this rural property, only a stone’s throw from Seven Mile Beach. Follow the paths through hidden gardens spilling down the slope to the dam where seating allows enjoyment of reflections and of the escarpment views beyond. Blending the serenity of gardens of the east with the generous plantings of a traditional English cottage garden, the owners say this is an ever-evolving living canvas. Hedging, a meditation garden, olive and citrus groves, rose beds, garden art and sandstone walls creating “rooms”, all add to the garden’s interest. Take a moment to contemplate nature from the shelter of the cabana. A frangipani garden leads visitors down the tree dotted slope to the dam where seats are placed to take advantage of the “borrowed landscape” of the Saddleback Mountains in the distance.
